Brisbane residents can participate in recreation and leisure programs. There are six programs catering for all ages, interests and fitness levels, including the Bushland Experience program. They are:

Brisbane Table Tennis Association - Coaching
Two levels of coaching are available.
INDIVIDUAL: The cost of coaching (usually in the range of $20 - $30 per hour) is a matter between you and the coach but a table hire fee of $7 is payable to the Centre. Please feel free to contact the Centre Manager on 3357 8992 if you have any further enquiries, or if you would like to make a booking.
GROUP: Wednesday nights - 6:30pm-8:30pm. Cost is $7 per session. |

Growing Old & Living Dangerously (Gold!)
Growing Old and Living Dangerously (GOLD!) is Brisbane City Council's popular program for people over 50. GOLD! introduces seniors to a new way of life through experiencing a variety of activities ranging from yachting to using the Internet.
The GOLD! program includes 4 themes every program:

International Badminton Federation
The website of the International Badminton Federation contains a wealth of information about the sport internationally. It includes profiles of teams and leading players, the results of competitions, news relating to the sport and a good deal more. It links to "World Badminton Online" a site that comprehensively covers many aspects of the sport. |
NTRA : National Touch Rugby Association
The site provides rules of the game, technical manuals, lists of referees, tournaments and contacts for the sport in Australia. |
Planet X online
This is the portal for Australian extreme sports. Planet X hold action sports events all over Australia. The site has pages for the Planet X Winter Games, Summer Games and Trials. These pages have event and location info, and also results and reviews of the various events. |

U Q Table Tennis Club

Black Diamonds Recreation Program (Brisbane City Council)
Black Diamonds is a program that supports and funds a variety of community activities, programs and events for young Indigenous people (aged seven to 25 years) in Brisbane.
It covers a number of sub-programs, including sport, recreation, the arts, culture, health, education and training, support and personal development.
The Black Diamonds' programs include:
* sports program - sports day, sports clinics, sports carnivals
* recreation program - camps, Indigenous community celebration events such as reconciliation week, school holiday programs, outdoor recreation activities
* arts program - arts exhibitions; live performances in music, dance, drama; arts and cultural festivals; workshops in music, performing arts, visual arts

Chill Out
The Brisbane City Council's Chill Out program offers exciting and mostly free activities for young people between the ages of 12 and 16 years.
The programs are held around Brisbane every school holidays and offer a range of sporting, cultural and art activities.
The program includes activities that are free or at a low cost, such as:
* ice-skating
* high ropes courses
* body art and painting
* ten-pin bowling
* snorkelling
* go-kart racing
* photography
* sailing

Gold 'n Kids (Brisbane City Council Recreation Program)
GOLD 'n' Kids gives older people and children (four years and over) the opportunity to participate together in a variety of recreation and leisure activities.
The program caters for grandparenting or carer responsibilities over the school holidays and includes activities such as:

* puppet making
* sailing
* ten-pin bowling
* fairy theme
* dancing and cooking
GOLD 'n' Kids activities are low cost or free. Bookings are essential, as places are limited.

Gone Walking
Gonewalking is the Brisbane City Council's new walking program initiated as part of the Living in Brisbane 2010 Active and Healthy theme.
The walks are held at consistent times and go for about one hour. Novice or regular walkers can join in and walks are suitable for parents with prams.

Real Adventure Women (raw)
RAW is a women's outdoor activity program giving women aged 16 years and over the opportunity to experience sporting and recreational activities in a friendly, supportive and non-competitive environment.
Experts instruct each activity, which are designed to suit both beginners and those with more experience.
The list of RAW activities varies between programs. It includes a range of indoor, outdoor and water sports from archery to power boating to tai chi, depending on the season.
