Boggo Road Gaol Museum
Queensland's oldest surviving prison, located next to Dutton Park Police Station. Guided tours by retired prison officers are available by prior arrangement.
Bond Store Museum, Maryborough
Concertrates on the history of the Port of Maryborough and the surrounding district. Open 7 days a week except Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Brisbane City Hall
Location: King George Square Adelaide Street Brisbane

Description Erected between 1920 and 1930, the heritage listed City Hall is seen as the heart of the City of Brisbane. Designed by architects Hall and Prentice, the sandstone-faced building features a finely detailed main entrance topped by an 85 metre Clock Tower. The Clock Tower is open to the public.
Cathedral of Saint Stephen
Set in a grassy open space in the City's heart, this complex demonstrates a skilful modernisation (1989) of a 19th century neo-Gothic building.
Claremont, Ipswich
Claremont is an early stone villa built by John Panton, an Ipswich merchant, in 1858. In the early 1870's it was the home of George Throne, parliamentarian, and a centre for social life. Check the website for current exhibitions.
Commissariat Store
The Commissariat Store in William Street is one of Brisbane's most significant buildings. Its first two floors were built by convicts in 1829, and then as Brisbane grew, so did the building.
Customs House

Fort Lytton
This site describes the 19th century military fortifications at Fort Lytton, near the mouth of the Brisbane River, now managed by the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). It also includes a photographic tour of the Fort, plus newspaper articles from the 1880s.
National Trust Queensland
The National Trust of Queensland is a community organisation which works to conserve Queensland's cultural heritage. The site contains sections on the properties cared for by the Trust, coming events and details of membership and branches as well as the NTQ register of places important to Queensland's heritage.
National Trust. Warwick and District Branch
The web site of the Warwick Branch of the National Trust includes a newsletter, an events calendar, an overview of the history of the Warwick district, a list of local National Trust properties, and links.
Naval Stores
Built in the mid 1880s as part of Brisbane's colonial marine defence strategy, the Naval Stores housed munitions and weapons and serviced the colony's modest but growing fleet of marine defence vessels.
Old Government House
Old Government House is a place of enormous cultural significance, and is one of our most important heritage sites. This building was the home of Queensland's Governor for most of the State's first fifty years, and during this time the governor was a major figure in the day-to-day life of both the Colony and the State.
Parliament House
A visit to Queensland Parliament allows you to experience the grandeur of Queensland's first and foremost public building. Built in 1868, the beautifully restored interior showcases Queensland's history, as shaped by the governments and laws that have been made in the Parliament.
Saint John's Cathedral
Visit a perfect example of 19th century Gothic-Revival architecture, begun 100 years ago and built in three stages. See stonemasons at work building the West End in Queensland sandstone, using medieval methods with 21st century technology.
University of Queensland
Established in 1910, The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia's largest and most prestigious universities, internationally acclaimed for its strengths in teaching and research. The St Lucia campus occupies a magnificent 114-hectare site on the banks of the Brisbane River, just seven kilometres from the city's heart, and features a number of heritage-listed buildings. Walking through the grounds is a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
Victoria Barracks
Victoria Barracks is a Heritage listed site containing, as it does, many reminders of early life in the Colony of Queensland and the early days of the Commonwealth. The buildings date from 1864.
Wolston House
Wolston House offers a visual history of the house and times, with the novelty of a hands-on experience for children. Experience life as it was - hand washing in tubs, hanging clothes with dolly pegs and sewing done with a treadle machine.
Anzac Square
This park is located in the heart of the city with pedestrian subways linking it to Central Train Station and Post Office Square. Here majestic sculptures are at the footsteps of the flame of peace, which burns continuously 24 hours a day. Surrounded by ancient Bottle trees Anzac Square is a stirring place to pay respect to the fallen who have made all of Brisbane's parks remain Australian.
